FAKE ALERT – Free Bike Lock from Ronald’s Lock Shop
Before you head over to claim this alleged Free Bike Lock, be sure to check out our research. After all, we are the home of the Gimmie’s Big List of Fake Freebies to Avoid. We research all samples before we share to keep you safe online. You may not realize it, but scammers and spammers are notorious for posting fake offers. There are lots of reasons why people post fake freebies, but usually it is about money. They build up a website or Facebook fanpage and then sell it for profit. Or, they take your info submitted in their alleged freebie form, and sell it to Spammers.
Findings:
- Fake phishing attempt (they’re selling your info to spammers)
- This has been around for YEARS (since at least 2009) and nothing ever comes
- You can submit form without entering info
- Spam popup window after submitting the form; a window will pop up and redirect to another unrelated offer they hope you’ll fill out so they can earn money
What to do if you requested it?
- Make a mental note to never request another freebie from Ronald 😉
- SHARE this with your friends to warn them!
