Free Whiskey Stones & Free Decanter (Fake Freebie)
There’s a new offer circulating from the alleged Independent Whiskey Association. They’ve offered a free decanter and now free whiskey stones. The FAKE free Bormioli Rocco Selecta 33-3/4-Ounce Decanter with Stopper has been around for some time and nobody has received. The stones are a new offer. Find out why they won’t come either.
Before you head over to claim the alleged FREE Whiskey Stones, be sure to check out our research. After all, we are the home of the Gimmie’s Big List of Fake Freebies to Avoid. We research all samples before we share to keep you safe online. You may not realize it, but scammers and spammers are notorious for posting fake offers. There are lots of reasons why people post fake freebies, but usually it is about money. They build up a website or Facebook fanpage and then sell it for profit. Or, they take your info submitted in their alleged freebie form, and sell it to Spammers. Some even deposit malicious code when you visit their website!
Findings:
- Their Facebook fan page was created shortly before the previous fake offer was posted
- They claim to be an association, but typically associations that have enough money to send everyone expensive gifts are backed by a big company with lots of money.
- SPAM POPUP after submitting form. They hope you’ll fill out the form that pops up because if you do they’ll make money through affiliate marketing. Offers that have spam popups are never legit!
- The Whiskey Stones cost $17.25 each. That’s an expensive gift if you’re giving to EVERY fan!
- The Bormioli decanter costs $9.18 each!
- In recent months we’ve seen an increase of fake freebie offers whose intent is to build up website traffic or Facebook fanpage following so that they can sell it.
Conclusion:
In our humble opinion, you should PASS on this one! None of the nice gifts they promise will ever come. You’ll probably get an increase in spam, and in a few months you may notice you follow a new freebie page (which was converted from this fake offer).
So, to stay safe we highly recommend that you read our Big List of Fakes and learn how to protect yourself on every single freebie you sign up for. Read also: Getting Started with Gimmie.
